FALL
CONFERENCE 2001
CANCELLATION NOTICE
In
the aftermath of the National Tragedies which took place in New
York City and other Eastern cities on Tuesday, September 11, 2001
and following consultation with Bishop Michael Driscoll and members
of the Diocesan Education Ministries staff, it has been decided
that is appropriate to cancel this year's Fall Conference.
The
needs we have as a Catholic Community to unite with our families
and parish communities in prayer for the victims and their loves
ones along with the difficulties associated in guaranteeing the
presence in Boise of almost a dozen persons who were scheduled to
deliver some 50 keynote addresses and workshops make it prudent
to make this decision.
We
appreciate the efforts of the many people throughout the diocese
who have worked so diligently and cooperatively with the Diocesan
Education Ministries staff to prepare for the conference. We ask
that you notify those members of your parish and school groups who
had planned to attend this year's conference of this notification
and advise all concerned that over the next week to ten days we
will be in contact with those who registered for this event to communicate
the procedures that will be followed in making registration refunds
and/or dealing with other issues relating to the Fall Conference.
We thank all for their cooperation and understanding!
