St. Vincent de Paul Re-Entry Conference

The SVdP Re-entry Conference’s main objective is to foster ex-offenders spiritual lives and assist them in their efforts to make a successful transition back into the community. Many ex-offenders are without the support of family or positive associates who can help them adjust to the new lifestyle. The parole process is difficult. Falling into old, bad habits and drifting back into unhealthy relationships happens too often. The goal of our ministry is to reduce recidivism by assisting men and women to live positive, responsible, & meaningful lives on the outside.

We are a Christian group of individuals of various religious affiliations, backgrounds, and talents affiliated with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We assist those individuals recently released from prison who do not have the resources and/or family or community support that is helpful for a successful return to society. Our particular conference focuses our efforts on employment, transportation, housing and Idaho Department of Correction relations. We are coordinating our efforts with the IDOC's Parole and Probation and Re-entry programs along with faith-based groups and organizations who have services that would be helpful to our clients.

The resources provided by St. Vincent de Paul include, but are not limited to, clothing, food pantries, medication assistance, transportation assistance, rental assistance, furniture, household items, referral to employment classes at Easter Seals and volunteers who assist with mock interviewing, cover letters, and resumes. We will also assist in directing individuals to various other human service organizations that can meet their needs.

We are funded by grants, fundraisers, donations, and support of the local St. Vincent stores and food banks. We were generously given seed money to begin our conference by St. Vincent’s. 100% of our funds go directly to the Risen in Christ Conference (there are no administrative costs).
