Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Perform in support of the parish and Church’s spiritual and pastoral mission
 Lead parish maintenance and custodial staff.
 Perform Maintenance Manager duties in a support role to the parish staff and overall parish.
 Schedule, track, and recommend, in a prioritized manner, facilities maintenance to be performed.
 Oversee replacement of equipment in a scheduled and disciplined manner but also as emergencies present themselves.
 Must be able to use tracking systems for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
 Establish and maintain a safe work environment for staff, parishioners, and public.
 Ensure that parish and school facilities and equipment, including cafeteria, kitchen, restrooms and other facilities are maintained in a safe and functional condition;
 Must possess organization skills with the ability to plan and communicate in writing.
 Make on the ground determinations as to whether work can be completed in-house or requires the expertise of a contractor.
 Assist in the development and execution of the facilities and maintenance budget to include recommending larger scale projects to be accomplished during the year.
 Solicit contractor bids for larger projects and make path forward recommendations to the pastor.
 Oversee subcontractor work product
 Maintain records for insurance purposes
 Maintain a supply of and account for cleaning supplies and equipment; maintain an adequate inventory at all times
 Comply with chemical handling laws and safety regulations as required to maintain a safe work environment
 Maintain security of buildings, equipment, and tools
 Foster communications and work collaboratively and professionally with all clergy, parish staff, school personnel, and parishioners.
 Manage maintenance and custodial staff personnel in accordance with applicable employment related laws and Diocese of Boise personnel policy guidelines and procedures
 Perform other duties as assigned

Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift 50 lbs or as required in a normal maintenance environment. Requires the physical ability to perform strenuous work such as snow removal. Ability to work in confined spaces such as plumbing chases and attic space.

Required Activities: Walking; sitting; standing; stooping; lifting, reaching; talking; handling; hearing; carrying; and climbing ladders.

Basic Qualifications:
 Excellent computer skills, communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
 Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the general public
 Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency
 Ability to maintain confidentiality
 Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a visibly responsive posture; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required
 Ability to successfully pass a background check and become safe environment certified.
 A thorough knowledge of the use of the techniques, tools and equipment associated with general maintenance
 A thorough knowledge of heating and cooling equipment, small appliance maintenance; plumbing and fixtures; and electricity
 Be available for emergency callouts as necessary after hours, weekends, and holidays
 Possess a valid Idaho driver’s license

Education and Experience:
 High School graduate or equivalent
 5 years of experience in a maintenance or similar position
 2 years proven successful experience as a people manager
 Thorough knowledge and experience in the use of the tools and equipment associated with general maintenance
 Experience in maintaining and minor repairs of electrical outlets, switches, fixtures, and ballasts; heating, venting, and cooling equipment (HVAC); small appliances; plumbing and plumbing fixtures; door and window locksets; door and window hardware; and roofing.

Other/Preferred Skills
 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred
 Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred
 CPR certification
