Office of Pastoral Ministries

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Boise seeks to support Pastors within their parishes to provide pastoral services to the poor, vulnerable, oppressed, and to multi-cultural populations within the State of Idaho.

To ensure a qualitative and consistent accomplishment of this goal, the Director of the Permanent Diaconate coordinates the recruitment of Pastoral Ombudsmen to serve as coordinators and trainers to a specific pastoral specialty.  These pastoral ombudsmen develop expertise in the location and needs of specific pastoral populations and in the administrative and process requirements to best access, provide for, and serve these populations through the parishes of the Diocese.

Support will only be given to specific parishes where the Pastor desires and supports Diocesan involvement. Pastoral Outreach Ombudsmen will focus on the following areas of pastoral ministries:

  • Prison Outreach

  • Human Life and Dignity Parish Support

  • Social Justice Agency Coordination

  • Multicultural Parish Support

  • Refugee Outreach
