‘40 Days for Life’ Meridian begins on Sept. 27

The following story appeared in the September 23 Idaho Catholic Register.

“40 Days for Life” will kick off its fall campaign at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, with a “Remember the Unborn Unborn Candlelight Vigil” at Cloverdale Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1200 N. Cloverdale Rd., in Boise. Participants will walk the grounds to the Memorial to the Unborn for prayer and song, followed by refreshments and a short program.

Due to the recent U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs decision, abortions are not taking place in Idaho. However, Planned Parenthood in Meridian is making abortion referrals to Walla Walla, Wash., which is four hours from the Treasure Valley. Planned Parenthood is also planning an abortion facility in Ontario, just over the Idaho-Oregon border.

Participants of “40 Days for Life” will gather to pray for an end to all abortions and to witness peacefully for the sanctity of life.

All are welcome to participate in the campaign by praying and fasting for the dignity of all life. The fall campaign runs from Wednesday, Sept. 28 to Sunday, Nov. 6. For more information and to sign up, go to 40Daysforlife.com/Meridian.
