After months of planning, registration for events throughout the Diocese is now available! There is a listing of all the events, locations, and times for gatherings from Fruitland to Preston and every- where in between!
There will be opportunities for processions, times for Adoration, Mass and socials. In addition, there are opportunities for neighboring parishes in the West Central, Southern and Eastern deaneries to join together in worship at the “Gathering of
Altars.”

Registration is free, but vital to our planning efforts so we can
accommodate everyone wishing to participate.

• 5:00 pm - Meet National Pilgrims at North End Native Plant Reserve (NENPR)

Parishes from all over the West Central Deanery will meet at Memorial Park to partake in this moment of unity among our communities. Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament will be transferred from pastor to pastor. Each pastor will have a moment to bless any parishioners gathered behind their temporary altar. This will happen in sequence until all pastors have had the opportunity to bless their congregations.
• 6:30 pm – Procession to the Cathedral
• 7:00 pm - Holy Hour & Pilgrim Testimony at Cathedral
• 8:00 pm - Eucharistic Pilgrimage potluck social in Cathedral Parish Hall
• 8:00 pm May 28th until 9:00am May 29 - Adoration at the Cathedral until Mass the next morning

All members of the public who join segments of the NEP are responsible for their own transportation, food and lodging. Please note that due to safety and the distance that the pilgrims have to cover in a short amount of time, they aren't walking the whole way and some segments, walking and driving, are not open to the public.

Melea Ulery, Tish Thorton, and Elisa Larson have been coordinating the events for the Boise stop along the Serra route of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage. All parishes of the West Central and Western Deanery are invited to join any or all of the events and experience the historic procession of the nation's longest pilgrimage when it comes through our city.
Boise events will begin with a meeting of the National Pilgrims at the North End Native Plant Reserve. From the Plant Reserve, all will go in procession to Memorial Park, about one mile away, 30 minutes walking. Parking is available along the streets in the North End neighborhoods for all who will be joining us.
All West Central and Western parish choirs are invited to join the Cathedral Choir at Memorial Park. Each West Central and Western parish pastor will have a moment to offer Benediction to any parishioners gathered behind their temporary altar in the park. The Blessed Sacrament will then be transferred to the next pastor. This will happen in sequence until all pastors have had the opportunity to bless their congregations.
After the activities at Memorial Park, everyone will go in procession to St. John's Cathedral (half a mile away, 15 minutes walking). During the procession from the park to St. John's Cathedral, individuals will carry banners with the names of all the parishes in our Diocese, so that all parishes will be represented and will journey with us symbolically.
Upon arriving at the Cathedral, all will gather in the main sanctuary for a Holy Hour and a testimonial from one of the National Pilgrims. The testimonial will be recorded so that anyone who cannot make it to this portion of the evening will be able to hear it.
A potluck social in the Cathedral dining hall
(downstairs) will be held immediately after the Holy Hour and testimonial. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will continue in the main sanctuary until 9:00 am the next morning.
The Boise stop of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage will conclude with Mass at 9:00 am on Wednesday, May 29, at St. John's Cathedral. The National Pilgrims will then depart for Jerome and the southern Idaho stops along this historic pilgrimage.
St. John Henry Newman said, “The Blessed Sacrament is that Presence which makes a Catholic Church different from every other place in the world, which makes it, as no other place can be: holy.” Our hope is that everyone who encounters our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament in Boise may experience that which they long for — his Presence.

We are blessed to have so many people in our community desiring to help with this stop, and we have many volunteer opportunities for those interested.
