After months of planning, registration for events throughout the Diocese is now available! There is a listing of all the events, locations, and times for gatherings from Fruitland to Preston and everywhere in between!
There will be opportunities for processions, times for Adoration, Mass and socials. In addition, there are opportunities for neighboring parishes in the West Central, Southern and Eastern deaneries to join together in worship at the “Gathering of
Altars.”

Please note that due to safety and the distance that the pilgrims have to cover in a short amount of time, they aren't walking the whole way and some segments, walking and driving, are not open to the public.

Jerome and Rupert are stops on the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage (NEP). On Wednesday afternoon, May 29, the pilgrimage arrives at St. Jerome Parish in Jerome and on Thursday morning, the pilgrimage will process to St. Nicholas Parish in Rupert.

For the Catholic community of Jerome, receiving Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament during the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is an opportunity to give joyful witness to their belief in the living and risen Christ, said Father Jesús González, pastor of St. Jerome.
​
Part of the preparation in the days leading up to the pilgrimage will be intensifying prayer times, such as the 24 hours of Adoration each month and the times of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Father González has invited those from Blackfoot, Aberdeen, Caldwell and Rupert to participate in all opportunities for Adoration with the Jerome community.

He noted that St. Jerome Parish was not originally slated to be part of the pilgrimage route. When the Vicar General of the Diocese, Father Caleb Vogel, said there had been a change and St. Jerome’s should prepare to receive the NEP, the whole community felt very honored. Father González noted that the Lord has his own plans, and those plans included Jerome.

“It is a privilege that Jesus in the Eucharist wanted to stop in this city. For what reason, God only knows. But somehow, we were chosen,” Father González said.
​
Jerome is now the Southern Deanery’s central stop, and area parishes are invited to gather there and participate in all events with their faithful.
​
St. Jerome Catholic Church has formed a committee of five people, with Deacon Jeffrey Powers as coordinator, to review Jerome’s event logistics and details relating to the pilgrims’ care. Groups that will be actively involved in the organization include the Knights of Columbus, the Kairos group, and the Council of Catholic Women. These groups are also in constant communication with Melea Ulery, one of the diocesan NEP organizers.

Jerome's pilgrimage details
In Jerome, the first NEP event will be the procession with the Blessed Sacrament that begins at 5:00 p.m. Participants should gather at the northeast corner of Gayle Forsyth Memorial Park, 912 8th Avenue East.
​
They will walk approximately one mile to Shepherd Park, 221 2nd Ave East. At the park, each deanery parish will have a temporary altar, from which each pastor will bless his parishioners with the Blessed Sacrament.
Altar servers from the various deanery parishes will also participate in the NEP procession in Jerome. They will form a large escort for the Blessed Sacrament from Gayle Forsyth Memorial Park to Shepherd Park.

The altar servers are asked to remain vested in liturgical robes during their participation in the procession so that the children will fall more in love with Jesus and there will be more vocations to priestly and religious life.
​
“We want to rekindle in them a love for the Eucharist in a society where very few people believe in the real presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament,” Father González explained. “We will use this opportunity to increase and strengthen faith in the Blessed Sacrament.”

After the procession has arrived at St. Jerome’s Parish (across the street from Shepherd Park), everyone is invited to hear the testimonies of the National Pilgrims and enjoy fellowship in the parish hall, followed by nightly Adoration.
Father González noted that Adoration during the night is a unique experience. Parishioners should take advantage of the opportunity by setting aside time to spend with the Lord in the Eucharist.

He explained that each priest in the deanery would receive a special invitation explaining the event details. At least a thousand people from Jerome and all the neighboring parishes are expected to participate.
​
Father González said the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage is an opportunity for Catholics to proclaim the Risen Christ. “We should witness with respect and reverence, but at the same time, proclaim the living Christ who fills our hearts with joy and happiness.”

Jerome y Rupert son paradas de la Peregrinación Eucarística Nacional (PEN). El miércoles 29 de mayo por la tarde, la peregrinación llegará a la Parroquia de St. Jerome en Jerome y el jueves por la mañana, la peregrinación llegará a la Parroquia de St. Nicholas en Rupert.
La Parroquia de St. Jerome tendrá el honor de ser incluida en la PEN
Para la comunidad católica de Jerome, recibir a Jesús Sacramentado durante la Peregrinación Eucarística Nacional es una oportunidad de dar testimonio gozoso de su creencia en Cristo vivo y resucitado, dijo el Padre Jesús González, párroco de St. Jerome.
Parte de la preparación en los días previos a la peregrinación será intensificar los tiempos de oración, como las 24 horas de adoración cada mes y los tiempos de adoración al Santísimo Sacramento los martes y jueves. El padre González ha invitado a los fieles de Blackfoot, Aberdeen, Caldwell y Rupert a participar en todas las oportunidades de adoración con la comunidad de Jerome.
Señaló que en un principio no estaba previsto que la parroquia de St. Jerome formara parte de la ruta de peregrinación. Jerome es ahora la parada central del Decanato Sur, y las parroquias de la zona están invitadas a reunirse allí y participar en todos los actos con sus fieles.
La iglesia Católica St. Jerome ha formado un comité de cinco personas, con el diácono Jeffrey Powers como coordinador, para revisar la logística del evento en Jerome y los detalles relacionados con la atención de los peregrinos. Detalles de la peregrinación en Jerome

Los monaguillos de las distintas parroquias del decanato también participarán en la procesión de la PEN en Jerome. Formarán una gran escolta del Santísimo Sacramento desde el Gayle Forsyth Memorial Park hasta el Shepherd Park.
Se pide a los monaguillos que vengan vestidos durante su participación en la procesión para que los niños se enamoren más de Jesús a través de su participación y para que haya más vocaciones a la vida sacerdotal y religiosa.
“Queremos reavivar en ellos el amor a la Eucaristía en una sociedad en la que muy pocos creen en la presencia real de Jesús Sacramentado”, explicó el Padre González.
“Aprovecharemos esta oportunidad para aumentar y fortalecer la fe en el Santísimo Sacramento”.
Después de que la procesión haya llegado a la Parroquia de St. Jerome (al otro lado de la calle del Parque Shepherd), todos están invitados a escuchar los testimonios de los Peregrinos Nacionales y a disfrutar de la convivencia en el salón parroquial, seguido de la adoración nocturna.
El Padre González señaló que la adoración nocturna es una experiencia única. Los feligreses deben aprovechar la oportunidad reservando un tiempo para estar con el Señor en la Eucaristía.
Aseguró que cada sacerdote del decanato recibirá una invitación especial explicando los detalles del evento. Se espera la participación de al menos mil personas de Jerome y de todas las parroquias vecinas.
El Padre González dijo que la Peregrinación Eucarística Nacional es una oportunidad para que los católicos anuncien a Cristo Resucitado. “Debemos dar testimonio con respeto y reverencia, pero al mismo tiempo, proclamar a Cristo vivo que nos llena el corazón de gozo y alegría”.
