Idaho Catholic Schools are celebrating Catholic Schools Week from Sunday, Jan. 29 - Saturday, Feb. 3. The theme this year is “United in Faith and Community.” Catholic
Schools Week is sponsored by the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).
All of our Idaho Catholic schools are “united in faith.” What unites our schools is our mission and Catholic identity as the foundation for all we do. Students participate in the faith through weekly Mass, daily prayer and Catholic religion instruction. Students also
have frequent opportunities to live out their faith through service to others.
Being mission-driven, along with the strong sense of community in each of our schools, reinforces my belief in the value of our Catholic schools — value that you cannot get anywhere else. Academic excellence prevails in our schools. Our students score well above the national and local averages.
We are blessed to have 16 Catholic schools in Idaho. Catholic Schools Week is a fun-filled time full of activities. There will be dress-up days based on the daily themes, assemblies, contests and reflections. Many schools will have religious ceremonies such as living rosaries, special Masses and prayer services. There may be fundraising and “friend-raising” events and open houses. Schools will also choose a service project, providing a living witness to our faith.
Each day throughout the week has a focus that guides activities celebrating the amazing things going on in our schools.
